Patio Party at the Solarium
Masterpiece Events is one of the preferred caterers for the Solarium in Decatur (one of our favorite venues). We provided appetizers for their community Patio Party on June 5, 2011. As always, it was great fun watching members of the community bid on auction items. All of the proceeds from the event go to support various initiatives in the Decatur community.

Druid Hills Tour of Homes Kick Off Event
Sorry, folks! I've gotten a little behind in letting you know about some of the great events we've been involved with this spring. Back in late April, we had the privilege of serving as the exclusive caterer for an event to celebrate the opening of the Druid Hills Tour of Homes. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and cocktails were served to a group of invited guests at the Druid Hills Golf Club. Usually, outside caterers are not allowed to work inside the club, but since we have supported the Druid Hills Tour of Homes for so many years, the Club made an exception. Our chefs and service staff worked right alongside the DHGC staff in their fabulous kitchen to execute a wonderful event. Supporting the DH Tour of Homes is just one of the ways that we give back to our community, and we consider it a real honor to work with this great group of folks.

A Super Appetizer for the Big Game
Here's a great appetizer that will "wow" your guests on Super Bowl Sunday. It is one of the most popular menu items at Masterpiece.
SAFFRON ASIAGO POTATOES

Pinch of Saffron
Pinch of Kosher Salt
8 oz. cream cheese
4 oz. Asiago cheese
1 oz. Asiago cheese (extra)
Spray of olive oil
Procedure:
Cut potatoes in half and make a small cut to flatten the bottom. Scoop out the center with the melon baller. Place in boiling water with saffron and salt for 5 to 8 minutes. Cook until firm, then drain and allow to air dry. Spray with olive oil and brown in oven at 350 degrees until golden brown.
Filling:
Place both cheeses in mixer and blend until smooth. Pipe into center of potato halves and top with extra Asiago cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
